Wedding Cakes

I bake and create many different types of confections. Here's a look at some of my past wedding cake confections. Enjoy!

Hannah Montana Birthday Cake-Part Deux

One of my repeat customers saw the Hannah Montana cake and cupcakes I made last May and she loved it so much she ordered it for her daughter's surprise birthday party this past weekend. I didn't want to make the exact same cake so I made a few color modifications and I made a microphone out of fondant and gumpaste. The customer was thrilled with the results and I hope you are too. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday/Halloween!

I got a request for a birthday/halloween cake, my first ever. The customer loves my red velvet cake, so I put a halloween spin on it. I made a black velvet cake with vanilla buttercream filling tinted orange. I decorated the outside of the cake with halloween themed fondant cutouts. The customer loved it and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

Tee with your coffee?

In September I made these beautiful cupcakes for a golfer celebrating his 70th birthday. Check out the mini tees, the sandtraps, golf balls, mini golf clubs and the flags. The birthday boy loved them and they were definetly the hit of the party! Enjoy.

Red gift box cake

For my Mother-in-law's birthday/retirement party I made her 2 gift box cakes. The colors were chosen to match the theme colors of the party. The cake was yellow cake filled with strawberry meringue buttercream. The second cake was red velvet cake filled with cream cheese buttercream. Both cakes were covered in red fondant and the bowes as well as the gift tags were made from gumpaste. I also did a royal icing stencil on the side in a damask pattern.

Lace, stich and drop icing cake

Recently I tried a new decorating technique called string work which utilizes royal icing. It's a very delicate and time consuming process however the end results are very beautiful and feminine. I also brushed up on my flower making techniques and created a small bouquet. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Gift box cake

This past Friday we celebrated my boss' birthday. It was my first time making a cake in the shape of a gift box and my first time successfully creating a bow. It is a red velvet cake filled with cream cheese buttercream and pecans, covered in rolled fondant. The bow, ribbon, gift tag and polka dots are all gumpaste. Enjoy!

Monogrammed cupcakes

My sister celebrated her birthday this past Wednesday and she asked me to create something for her. I wanted to do something elegant and unique to reflect her as an individual. I made her some yellow cake cupcakes and filled it with buttercream frosting. The buttercream frosting was the same color as her outfit (fuchsia). I then covered the cupcakes with rolled fondant cutouts. The white cutouts I embellished with a stamp, and then I covered the white fondant with pink and chocolate fondant. On the chocolate fondant I used a stamp to personalize the cupcakes with her initial and used a simple gold dragee to give it just a teeny bit of bling.

Carrot cake and carrot cake cupcakes

I was up to my elbows in carrot cakes for the folks at my job. Someone at my job ordered a carrot cake to take to a family event. I also made carrot cake cupcakes for the monthly birthday party at the job. Carrot cake is one of my absolute favorites to eat and decorate! Enjoy the pictures.
